Michael Derrig Landscape Architect/Owner

Michael Derrig a registered Landscape Architect with over 28 years experience, founded Landscape Details in 2000. He has a reputation for an elegant aesthetic that is evident behind the hedges of some of the finest estates in the Hamptons. Influenced by visionary 20th century landscape architects Thomas Church, Dan Kiley and A.E. Bye, Derrig creates cohesive, beautifully-executed landscapes in close collaboration with his clients.

Derrig received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University where he graduated cum laude in 1986. After honing his craft in ballparks, zoos and on college campuses, he joined Kelly Varnell, a landscape architecture firm in Manhattan. The natural beauty of the Hamptons drew him to Sag Harbor. He has grown Landscape Details from a team of three landscaping experts, to one comprised of 100 skilled maintenance, design and installation craftsmen.

Derrig has been a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects for 28 years. Michael lives in the village of East Hampton, and is an avid supporter of Guild Hall, Madoo and several other local organizations.
